A Lebanese report says the ongoing talks between Israel and Lebanon may also cover the possible return of the remains of Israeli navigator Ron Arad in exchange for Lebanese prisoners. The claim was reported Tuesday by an Al-Jadeed correspondent in Washington and repeated by N12, which published the item on June 23, 2026 at 15:28.
Arad was captured by the Amal organization in Lebanon on October 16, 1986, and has been considered missing since 1988. The new report suggests his remains could become part of the diplomatic agenda between the two countries.
The article also recalled an earlier report from March in the Arab press that said the IDF had carried out a special operation deep inside Lebanon, in the village of Nabi Sheet. According to that report, a special force tried to bring Arad's bones back to Israel.
Hezbollah later claimed that four Israeli helicopters crossed into Lebanese airspace and landed troops near the triangle of the towns of Yahfoufa, Al-Kharbiyya and Marwun. No confirmation was given in the article for either account.
