A new episode of "Marriage at First Sight" will air Tuesday night on Keshet 12, and the preview shows Neta and Avitar confronting not only the usual relationship challenges but also the emotional strain of wartime Israel. In an exclusive clip, the two have an unusually candid conversation that exposes fears and cracks beneath the surface.
Neta tells Avitar that from the beginning she sensed something unpredictable in him. "This is exactly how I read you in the first days," she says, adding that her deepest fear is that he is "not predictable." Avitar immediately completes her thought, acknowledging that is what she meant. Neta also says she told his sister, Hadas, that Avitar is like a constantly shifting gesture, explaining, "I see you are making an effort, but it is an effort that could also fail."
Avitar does not dismiss the emotional turbulence he is experiencing since the war began. He admits that he is facing parts of himself he still cannot fully explain: "These are things in me that I still do not know how to explain. What they are based on and what is happening to me. These are things I only started confronting recently."
The conversation then turns inward, as Neta questions whether her own lightness is a kind of defense mechanism. She says she feels she has been through so much that her sense of proportion has changed, but wonders whether she is out of touch with her emotions. Avitar offers a blunt interpretation, telling her, "And that is also anxiety."
