Miami’s blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo has raised a new question in the NBA, whether LeBron James could also end up with the Heat. According to Yahoo, the idea is still unlikely, but it is no longer being ruled out, and sources described it as both “possible” and “attractive and realistic.”
The report said that since the Antetokounmpo trade, attention has shifted to what Miami will do with Andrew Wiggins and Norman Powell while trying to build depth around its new core of Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. Even so, a reunion with James was described as something that cannot be ignored completely.
Yahoo said Miami could consider using its mid-level exception to pursue James if he reaches free agency. That remains a distant scenario, but the report stressed it cannot be “completely ruled out.” The article also noted that a team with James, Antetokounmpo and Adebayo would instantly become one of the NBA’s most intriguing projects, though major financial obstacles would have to be solved first.
For now, Miami’s focus is on keeping Wiggins and Powell and exploring other ways to strengthen the roster through free agency and available salary exceptions. James is not yet part of the Heat’s plans, but after one of the biggest trades in franchise history, the possibility is being taken more seriously than before.
