During Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cross-examination in the so-called “cases 1000, 2000 and 4000,” the judges explicitly barred him from speaking with his attorney, Amit Hadad. The court said any exceptional request for contact would have to be submitted in an orderly way, after which the court would hear the prosecution’s position.
Despite that instruction, Channel 13 reported on Monday evening that Netanyahu and Hadad had held many conversations, not just once or twice, over the past few weeks. The report said the two discussed a range of issues, with Hadad advising and assisting the prime minister.
Hadad denied the report and said he had acted properly, filing requests in specific cases when needed. No response was given on Netanyahu’s behalf.
