Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied that the Islamic Republic had agreed to let nuclear inspectors enter the country. The ministry said cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency would continue, but only in line with Iran’s commitments under its safeguards agreement and the decisions of parliament.
The statement came after an earlier report by Tasnim, an Iranian news agency aligned with the regime, which said the issue of allowing IAEA inspectors into Iran had not been approved by the Iranian negotiating team or by responsible government officials. Together, the remarks indicate that Tehran is rejecting any suggestion that it has already consented to expanded access for inspectors.
