Iranian state-linked media said Monday that the issue of allowing International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors into Iran was not approved in negotiations, contradicting earlier U.S. claims of a breakthrough. The report, published by the Iranian news agency Tasnim, said the question of entry permission was not confirmed by the Iranian negotiating team or by any government officials.
Tasnim quoted the view that it would be better if the matter were never approved. The outlet also said one of Iran’s most important assets today, used as a deterrent against U.S. actions, is its policy of nuclear ambiguity.
According to the report, Iran deliberately maintains uncertainty about the storage locations of enriched materials. Tehran says Washington is devoting all of its efforts to breaking that ambiguity and obtaining intelligence on sensitive sites, a move Iran is determined to block.
