The NBA free-agent market is moving quickly, and several players are signing contract extensions ahead of it. On Sunday, Atlanta agreed with C.J. McCollum on a one-year, $21 million extension, keeping the veteran guard off the market.
McCollum averaged 18.7 points and 4.1 assists per game this season. He was also a standout in the playoff series against New York, when his team went up 2-1 before eventually being eliminated by the champion.
Phoenix also retained two players, Colin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin. Gillespie signed a four-year extension worth $48 million, while Goodwin agreed to a three-year, $19 million deal. The report described both contracts as relatively modest.
Among the players still eligible to sign extensions are Trae Young, James Harden, Khris Middleton, Kristaps Porzingis, Fred VanVleet and, with lower odds, LeBron James.
