UFC returned to the Apex in Las Vegas overnight Saturday to Sunday, one week after the historic White House event, and the card delivered five finishes in five fights. The fight night featured three knockouts and two submissions, with the main event ending in a dramatic comeback win for Manel Kape.
Kape, who was born in Angola and improved to 23-7, beat Kyoji Horiguchi by knockout for his fourth straight stoppage victory. Horiguchi, now 36-6, controlled much of the bout and showed his full skill set, but after about two and a half rounds the momentum shifted. A right hand from Kape stunned him, and Kape followed with punches on the ground to seal the win.
The victory was also revenge for Kape, who had lost to Horiguchi in December 2017 under Japan’s Rizin promotion. Horiguchi, meanwhile, suffered his first loss since April 2022 and his first defeat in the UFC.
The undercard also produced more finishes: Navaho Sterling improved to 10-0 with a knockout over Yon Kutelba, Christian Rodriguez defeated Haider Amil by guillotine choke, and Mortazali Magomedov stayed unbeaten at 11-0 with a twister submission against Melsik Baghdasaryan.
