The UFC returned to action overnight Saturday into Sunday with a Fight Night card at the Apex in Las Vegas, coming after the historic event at the White House. The five-fight card produced five finishes, including three knockouts and two submissions, making it a hectic night in the cage.
The main event saw Manel Kape defeat Kyoji Horiguchi by knockout in the fourth round, extending Kape’s winning streak to four. Kape, born in Angola and now 23-7, avenged a loss to the Japanese veteran from December 2017 in Rizin. Horiguchi, who entered at 36-6, controlled much of the bout and showed his full skill set, but after about two and a half rounds of dominance, he was caught by a right hand and finished with ground strikes. For Horiguchi, it was his first loss since April 2022 and his first in the UFC.
Elsewhere on the card, Navajo Stirling improved to 10-0 with a knockout win over Ion Cutelaba, Christian Rodriguez defeated Haider Amil by guillotine submission, and Murtazali Magomedov beat Melsik Baghdasaryan by twister submission. The event was described as a wild Apex night with no decisions on the main televised portion.
