Senior Iranian official Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, said the United States understands “the language of economics and cost-benefit analysis” better than other forms of pressure. He made the remarks in the context of negotiations, arguing that economic leverage matters in the talks.
Mokhber warned that if any agreement stays only “ink on paper,” energy flows to the Middle East will also stop. He said Iran’s negotiators will not be satisfied unless the commitments are fully carried out and the nation’s rights are respected.
The comments present an Iranian warning that the outcome of the talks will be judged by implementation, not by signatures alone, and that failure to honor the deal could have regional energy consequences.
