A gallery of striking wildlife portraits was posted in the Facebook group of the Israel Nature Photography Association. The images include animals and birds photographed in Israel and abroad, among them a snake in Thailand, an arctic fox in Iceland, a tiger shark, a cheetah feeding in Kenya, an orangutan in Indonesia, a royal vulture, a golden jackal, a crested grebe, a tiger in India, a black stork with a fish, a Dalmatian pelican in Greece, a sea turtle, an elephant calf in Kenya, a king penguin, and a short-toed snake eagle yawning.
The association says it was founded to promote nature photography in Israel. Its stated goals include helping conserve Israel’s ecosystem, educating the public to recognize and protect nature and the environment, and raising awareness of environmental issues among nature photographers and the wider public.
The group describes itself as a nonprofit established by and for nature photographers. It aims to let photographers learn and grow through mutual inspiration, sharing, learning, joint meetings, and lectures, while also strengthening the status of nature photography in Israel and its contribution to society and environmental protection.
