Steve Witkoff, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, told American lawmakers in a private briefing that Iran will invite International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to monitor its nuclear sites. He said the process would also begin to identify and reveal the locations of the Islamic Republic’s enriched uranium.
Witkoff said the information was conveyed to lawmakers as part of a detailed briefing. He added that the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran does not include side agreements.
According to Witkoff, however, a separate accompanying letter was drafted between Tehran and the IAEA to extend the validity of the inspectors’ invitation. The article does not say when the inspection access would begin or whether Iran has already formally issued the invitation.
