Binyamin Brigade Spring Dedicated in Memory of Two Fallen Commanders
A spring in Beit El, formerly known as the Hartois spring, was officially inaugurated in a moving ceremony and renamed in memory of two former Binyamin Brigade commanders, Col. Sharon Asman and Col. Yehonatan, or Yoni, Steinberg. The site is now called the Binyamin Brigade Spring.
The event was attended by the commanders’ families, military officers, soldiers, friends, and partners involved in the spring project. The dedication honored Asman, who is deceased, and Steinberg, who was killed in action, as part of a tribute to their service and leadership.
Beit El local council head Shai Alon said the two devoted their lives to defending the people and the land. He said they led troops and left behind a legacy of leadership, commitment, and love of the land.
Alon added that the council developed and prepared the site and invited the public to visit it.
