The Israel Center for Excellence in Education, YASA, will expand beyond Jerusalem for the first time and open a new gifted and high-achieving high school in Netivot called YASA Negev. The school will operate with the Netivot municipality and the Southern District of the Education Ministry.
The new campus is scheduled to open in the 2027 school year with a gradual, growing model. In its first stage, it will open two 9th-grade classes for academically strong boys and girls from across southern Israel and the western Negev. Admission will be through a dedicated selection process, and the school will serve both religious and secular students.
The curriculum will include a long school day, in-depth study across multiple subjects, and two main tracks, exact sciences and humanities and social sciences. The science track will cover physics, biology and computer science. Students will receive individual pedagogical support in a learning environment designed to foster excellence.
YASA Negev is based on YASA High School in Jerusalem, which has operated for more than 30 years and is regarded as one of Israel’s leading excellence schools. Over the years, it has produced thousands of graduates who went on to key roles in the IDF, academia, medicine, high tech, culture and the arts. To help students from distant communities participate, the school will offer full boarding, along with an organized daily bus service to the Netivot campus.
