A climbing group of 19 hikers narrowly survived a major avalanche in the Himalayas after crossing a dangerous mountain pass at 5,312 meters. The incident occurred shortly after the team completed the ascent of Traill's Pass in Uttarakhand, in northern India.
According to the report, the expedition had spent 10 days battling severe snowstorms, deep snow, and hidden ice crevasses before making the crossing. Once the group finished the passage, a large avalanche suddenly began moving directly toward them, causing panic among the climbers.
Local authorities said everyone in the group emerged unharmed. Officials in the area stressed that conditions at Traill's Pass are known to be especially unpredictable and dangerous, making it one of the country's most difficult and risky trekking routes.
