MK Adi Azuz of Yesh Atid submitted a formal parliamentary question to Defense Minister Israel Katz about two issues raised by a recent ynet report. She asked what steps are being taken to update the Israel Defense Forces personnel branch staffing standards, and how female combat engineers who were moved to rear, administrative roles will be compensated.
According to the report cited in her question, some of the soldiers were transferred out of combat into office duties because the army had not set up an appropriate personnel standard for them. Azuz said the women had already proven themselves in the field.
In a statement to ynet, Azuz said, "These women have already proven themselves on the ground. The fact that they are being moved to administrative roles because the system did not bother to arrange a suitable position for them is unacceptable."
