Hapoel Tel Aviv is set to begin preseason training next week, with the only new arrival so far being midfielder Yonatan Perber from Hapoel Haifa. The club still hopes to add more players before the season starts.
One player who may ask to leave on loan is young midfielder El Yam Kancepolski, who played only 426 minutes this season in the Premier League and the State Cup. Kancepolski wants more playing time and a larger role, but Hapoel Tel Aviv currently sees him as part of the squad and is not actively discussing his future.
He is competing for the defensive midfield spot with Andrian Kraev, regarded as one of the league’s best in that role, and with Facao, who had a strong season. If another club promises Kancepolski a significant role in midfield, he could request a loan move. For now, he is expected to start training with Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Separately, the Reds are due to find out their second-round opponent in the UEFA Conference League qualifying draw at 3:00 p.m. today. It has been 12 years since Hapoel Tel Aviv last played in European competition.
