Jerusalem District Court has issued a temporary injunction stopping the Likud conference that was due to take place next Thursday, June 25, 2026. The order came after a group of Likud members asked the court to halt the gathering, and Judge Tamar Bar-Asher approved the request with both sides in agreement.
The petitioners were party members Shimon Yosef Malul, Moshe Ipargan, Uriel Morali, Yaakov Wider, David Kamari, Yehudit Sharfer, Yehudit Snehdrai and Moshe Bogalo, represented by lawyers from the Harel Arnon firm. They sought, in their words, to “block the convening of the conference.”
Likud’s legal adviser, attorney Avi Halevi, submitted the party’s position to the court, saying it did not oppose the injunction. In a statement, the party said, “The respondent does not object to granting the requested decision, and agrees to give it binding force through a judicial ruling.”
Halevi also told the court that authority to convene the Likud’s Fifth Conference lies solely with the party. Because of that, Likud said there was no need to add other respondents to the case. The injunction will remain in force until further order, though the court noted that any relevant third party may still pursue appropriate legal action if it chooses.
