Betar Jerusalem defender Luca Gadrani spoke in an interview from Kazakhstan about his season and his future, saying the club’s main goal is European competition and that finishing second with a Europa League berth was a strong result. He said the team had also aimed to fight for the championship, but considered the campaign a success.
Asked whether he will stay at Betar next season, Gadrani gave an uncertain answer despite confirming he is still under contract. “Right now I have a valid contract with the club. In football, you can never know for sure what will happen tomorrow, so we will see how things develop this summer,” he said.
Pressed on whether he has other offers, including from Kazakhstan where he previously played for Kairat, he said there is interest but he is focused on rest and preparing for the new season. He added that he has “a very good impression” of Kazakhstan and its league, but did not want to discuss specific offers.
Gadrani also compared the leagues, saying the Israeli league is faster and more intense, while the Kazakh league has a higher average level of foreign players and more matches where mistakes are costly. He said Kazakhstan still has strong teams and good competition.
