Backlash Grows Over Gwyneth Paltrow’s Israeli Ad Campaign

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is facing backlash on social media over a campaign for the Israeli real estate company Aviv Melisron, which operates the 51Park luxury towers in Herzliya.

The campaign also made headlines abroad, with the Daily Mail writing, “Gwyneth Paltrow sparks wave of criticism after starring in an ad for a residential project in Israel,” and including reactions from users online. At the end of the article, it noted: “Israel’s attack in Gaza has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, and its war with Lebanon has caused the deaths of 3,500 people.”

On X, users attacked her for taking part in an ad for an Israeli company, using harsh language such as, “It’s like advertising a building in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust,” “I always knew she was a piece of shit,” and “A disgusting woman, she’ll do anything for a little more money.” Another user fumed, “Gwyneth Paltrow is advertising $10 million penthouses in Herzliya while children are buried under the rubble in Gaza and people are fleeing missiles in Lebanon.”

The campaign itself was recently released and shows Paltrow waking up in her apartment overlooking Central Park in New York, starting her morning routine and running in the park. When she returns to her apartment, the actress passes through revolving doors, emerges dressed in a suit and asks the driver to take her to 51Park. When the driver asks, “New York?”, Paltrow replies, “Herzliya, Israel.”
