Channel 12 Analyst: Upcoming Election Centers on Netanyahu's Leadership

Media personality Barak Sari, a panelist on Channel 12's current affairs programs, stated that the upcoming Israeli elections will be a referendum on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's continued leadership. In a post on his X account, Sari argued that the election is about whether to continue with Netanyahu, whom he accused of evading responsibility following a major disaster and viewing himself as a victim, or to elect different leaders and form a new government.

Sari dismissed talk of national unity as "nonsense" and "idle chatter," asserting that the election will lead to a decisive outcome. He warned that if Netanyahu's government is re-elected, its ministers will proceed with plans previously enacted against the Supreme Court, the media, the IDF, and democracy in general. He also raised concerns about the potential for a blanket exemption from military conscription for the ultra-Orthodox, which he believes would burden IDF soldiers and reservists.

Sari contrasted this potential future with an alternative path for Israel, suggesting a return to the pre-Netanyahu era. He framed the election as a choice between continuing Netanyahu's policies or embarking on a new direction for the country.
