A suspected shooting attack was reported overnight Tuesday in the bypass area near Huwara in Samaria. An Israeli civilian said a passing vehicle opened fire at his car and then drove away.
Initial reports described the suspect vehicle as a black Skoda. According to the information received, it came from the Tapuah Junction area, fled first toward Ariel, and then continued north on Route 60 toward Kedumim.
No injuries were reported. Israel Defense Forces troops were dispatched to the scene and launched a wide search for the gunman. There were also reports of exchanges of fire near Tapuah Junction.
Teenagers from nearby settlements, including Yitzhar and Kedumim, began demonstrating at the junction after the incident. The IDF said that no evidence was found at the scene indicating that shots had been fired, and that forces were continuing to scan the area and set up roadblocks.
