Yossi Elituv Discusses Rosh Hashanah Unity and Collective Judgment

Yossi Elituv, editor of the 'Mishpacha' newspaper, offered his perspective on the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday during his segment on 'Kikar HaShabat'. He contrasted the common perception of Rosh Hashanah as a day of individual judgment with the message found in the weekly Torah portion of Nitzavim.

Elituv highlighted that while Rosh Hashanah is often seen as a time for personal reckoning, the portion of Nitzavim emphasizes collective unity, beginning with the word 'all of you.' He suggested that before individual accountability, there is a need for togetherness.

According to Elituv, when Israelis act as a unified entity, they are not only judged collectively but also become the instrument through which the blessings for the entire year are channeled. This perspective underscores the importance of national solidarity in the face of spiritual and temporal challenges.
