Major Hasidic Torah Study Center Opens New Branch in Jerusalem

A new branch of a prominent Hasidic Torah study network has opened in Jerusalem, establishing its presence within the Spinka Hasidic Beit Midrash on Bar Giora Street. This Jerusalem branch joins existing centers in Bnei Brak, which include a well-known teaching kollel that has produced numerous rabbinical judges and community leaders, as well as an evening kollel.

The opening ceremony was led by the Spinka Rebbe, alongside Rabbi Shlomo Nachshoni, the head of the Jerusalem kollel and a rabbinical judge, and Rabbi David Levi, the director of the kollels. The Rebbe delivered a discourse emphasizing the profound importance of devoted Torah study and heartfelt connection to its teachings. He referenced the well-known saying from "Ohrach Chaim" about the world being lost due to a lack of initial blessings in Torah study, explaining that true learning requires internal commitment and connection.

The Rebbe further shared that his grandfather, Rabbi Yehoshua of Belz, referred to these teachings as "Chasidish Bachur" (Hasidic youth), and that he once remarked to another Rebbe holding a Talmudic volume that its pages contain ethics, Hasidism, and Halakha (Jewish law).

He also offered words of encouragement to the kollel's scholars, acknowledging the financial pressures they face from authorities. Following the Rebbe's address, Rabbi Nachshoni, Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Weiss (rabbi of the Beit Midrash), and Rabbi Levi spoke about the kollel's progress.

The event concluded with the Rebbe sharing a toast with the scholars and offering blessings for their continued spiritual growth. The establishment of this new kollel is seen as a significant milestone in the network's expansion, aiming to promote and elevate Torah scholarship.
