Rabbi Urges Religious Zionist Unity, Praises Smotrich's Actions

Rabbi Volnov argues that even great figures like King Hezekiah were criticized for not expressing thanks for miracles. He believes people often focus on what is lacking, neglecting to acknowledge existing achievements. While criticism is permissible, it should not erase gratitude for what has been accomplished.

In this context, Rabbi Volnov specifically praises Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich for his significant actions in the West Bank settlement movement, including advancing settlements and farms, removing obstacles, and investing in infrastructure. He also commends Smotrich's work on budgets, compensation, and rehabilitation for those affected by war and economic challenges. Rabbi Volnov describes Smotrich as possessing a rare combination of work ethic, attention to detail, determination, and the ability to implement ideas, having advanced initiatives previously considered impossible.

He concludes by calling for a balanced approach: learning from past mistakes to avoid repeating them, while also recognizing and appreciating current accomplishments. He urges public figures to consider the consequences of their actions for the entire nation and to approach the new year with wisdom, responsibility, unity, and gratitude to ensure a proper public path, preserve achievements, and foster further blessings.
