Parents Claim Shin Bet Not Helping in Search for Missing Girl

On the third consecutive year of school opening without her, the parents of Haimnot Kasao, a 12-year-old girl who has been missing for 921 days, held a somber protest. Surrounded by red balloons, they expressed their helplessness and frustration.

Despite assurances made last week following a meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, stating the Shin Bet security agency was ready to join the search efforts, the parents claim nothing has changed on the ground and the promises remain unfulfilled. "Haimnot also wants to go to school. For two and a half years, what has she been eating, drinking, where has she been sleeping? Tell the Shin Bet why, for two and a half years, they still don't want to get involved in Haimnot's case?" her mother cried, addressing the attendees.

The mother appealed to the public for prayers and to spread the word about Haimnot's disappearance, urging the Shin Bet to intervene. Her father echoed the deep disappointment, stating, "Last week we met with the President. What they told us wasn't true, the Shin Bet didn't get involved in Haimnot's case as they promised us, they just said it. We have no choice, the Shin Bet must be brought into the story, they have many technological means to locate and find her. Help us with prayers and publicity, we have no choice."

The family is calling on the public to continue advocating and pressuring for the investigation to advance.
