Channel 14 Host Mocks Ofer Winter's Ego Ahead of TV Appearance

Ofer Winter, chairman of the 'Am Yisrael' party and a retired brigadier general, was expected to appear on the Channel 14 program 'HaPatriotim' on Thursday. The show's host, Yinon Magal, tweeted about Winter's upcoming appearance. In response, fellow channel personality Shimon Riklin commented, "Do us a favor and move the broadcast to the Yad Eliyahu Arena. With Winter's enormous ego, there's no chance he'll fit into Channel 14's studios."

This comes after reports from Kan 11 that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's associates offered Winter a meeting to discuss potential unity and reserved spots within the Likud party. Winter reportedly refused the conversation, stating there was "nothing to discuss." The Likud party is prepared to offer Winter four of Netanyahu's remaining five reserved spots on the Likud list, all placed before the 30th position, in exchange for him withdrawing his independent candidacy. Winter has not yet formally responded to this offer, having initially declined the meeting.

Winter previously stated in a press conference that he was not ruling out alliances but emphasized that any such connections would be with "new and clean people." He welcomed anyone wishing to "fix" the situation and prioritize the good of the nation, adding that the party's "home is open" to those not implicated in the failures of October 7th and who aim to change the discourse that led to the "terrible massacre."
