Patriots Star Leads Talks to Unite Three Right-Wing Parties

Professor Moshe Cohen Eliya, a constitutional law expert and familiar face from Channel 14's "The Patriots" program, is spearheading efforts to unite several political groups ahead of upcoming elections. Cohen Eliya is engaged in advanced discussions with former MK and Deputy Minister Gadi Yevarkan and Professor Yaron Zelekha to form a joint technical bloc.

This potential alliance aims to bring together various political entities, security figures, and social groups, including "Beit Yisrael," the Tzomet party, and elements associated with "Mesad Ha'aretz." The initiative also involves figures from the Ethiopian-Israeli community, representatives of the Indian-Israeli community, and organizations of retirees and reservists.

A central tenet of the proposed platform is a fight against what Cohen Eliya terms the "Israeli deep state" and unelected power centers. A key, non-negotiable demand is a comprehensive structural reform of the justice system, specifically the establishment of a constitutional court. The organizers state this is a prerequisite for joining any future coalition government.

The discussions are occurring amidst a broader trend of consolidation among smaller parties on the right. Yevarkan recently left the Likud to found "Beit Yisrael," focusing on a national agenda with social and economic priorities. Cohen Eliya brings public recognition as a vocal critic of judicial activism.

Sources indicate an ambitious electoral goal for this potential new list, aiming to garner over 15 Knesset seats. While the alliance between Cohen Eliya, Yevarkan, Tzomet, and other groups is progressing, final agreements with Professor Zelekha are still under negotiation. If successful, the bloc could prioritize dismantling the "deep state" and enacting significant judicial reform.
