Right-Wing Activist Sues Journalist Ben Caspit Over Defamation

Right-wing activist Rami Ben Yehuda announced on Wednesday he intends to sue journalist Ben Caspit for defamation. The lawsuit stems from comments Caspit made on his radio show with Yinon Magal on 103FM, describing a protest outside the home of then-minister Zeev Elkin during the Bennett-Lapid government in 2021.

Ben Yehuda had been protesting near Elkin's home, which resulted in a restraining order against him. Caspit recounted a scene where Elkin's wife, Maria, and their young children suffered greatly from the demonstrations. He specifically named Ben Yehuda, referring to him as "this human sewer."

Ben Yehuda vehemently denied Caspit's claims, stating he had no contact with Elkin's children. "You are a despicable liar. Elkin is not willing to remove immunity, and you will pay for this lie," Ben Yehuda declared.

Maria Elkin had previously expressed her distress in a Facebook post, criticizing protesters who demonstrated outside their children's bedroom window, causing the children to wet the bed again. She questioned the protesters' actions, asking, "Maybe enough?"
