Berry Sakharof Releases Surprise New Studio Album After 15 Years

Israeli rock musician Berry Sakharof surprised fans by releasing a new studio album, "Sulam Ahava" (Ladder of Love), at midnight on Thursday. The release came without prior announcement.

Sakharof revealed the upcoming album just an hour before its release during a performance at the Kó Rakia complex in Ariel Sharon Park. He informed the audience that a new album would be available at midnight.

"Sulam Ahava" marks Sakharof's first studio album in 15 years, with his last being "Atah Nimat Ha" in 2011. Since then, he has focused on collaborations and compilation albums. In 2016, he released "Likutim," a collection of songs and instrumental pieces recorded over several years. He also collaborated with Ehud Banai in 2017 for the album "Hi Hufi'ah Kmo HaRuach," featuring Ladino songs translated into Hebrew. In 2020, he released "Badal Shel Or" with Dudu Tassa, an album recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic that was also released as a surprise.

Sakharof's career spans decades, and he is considered one of Israel's most influential rock musicians. His surprise releases have become a notable aspect of his recent work.
