Global Jewish Leaders Convene in Jerusalem to Combat Antisemitism

The third J50 Forum, bringing together leaders of Jewish communities and organizations worldwide, concluded in Jerusalem after a three-day gathering. Established by then-Foreign Minister G Gideon Sa'ar to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between Israel and diaspora leadership, the forum hosted approximately 60 senior representatives from North America, Latin America, Europe, Eurasia, and the Pacific region. Attendees included community presidents, organization CEOs, chief rabbis, and other prominent figures.

Discussions focused on the rise of anti-Zionism as a guise for antisemitism, and the phenomenon of Jews being pressured to disavow Zionism to gain acceptance in professional and social circles. Participants also met with senior Israeli officials to discuss political and strategic matters. Community representatives shared the security challenges and antisemitism they face in their respective countries.

Foreign Minister Sa'ar addressed the forum, stating that despite political maneuvers by some governments against Israel, the country continues to expand its diplomatic ties, including opening new embassies and restoring severed relations. He emphasized, "In the face of the global wave of antisemitism and attempts to isolate Israel and undermine its legitimacy, the message from Israel is clear, united, we are stronger. The connection between Israel and the Jewish communities around the world is vital for our shared future, and we will continue to work together to strengthen it."
