Russian Duma Elections to Be Held in Israel

Russian citizens residing in or temporarily present in Israel will be able to vote in the upcoming Russian State Duma elections in two weeks. The Russian Embassy in Israel announced that polling stations will be set up in three major Israeli cities: Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa. No prior registration is necessary, and voters will need a valid Russian foreign passport to confirm their identity. The elections in Russia are scheduled to take place from September 18 to 20. A total of 450 deputies will be elected: 225 through single-mandate districts and 225 through party lists. Following the disqualification of the Yabloko party, 10 parties are competing via party lists, in addition to candidates running in single-mandate districts, potentially with party backing. The participating parties are United Russia, Greens, CPRF, Communists of Russia, LDPR, New People, Party of Pensioners, Party of Direct Democracy, Rodina, and A Just Russia. Five of these parties are currently represented in the Duma, while the other five are seeking to enter for the first time.
