Far-Right Parties Offer Reserved Spot to Former IDF General Ofer Winter

The far-right National Union bloc, recently unified with the Religious Zionism party, has extended an offer to retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter to join their technical bloc. The offer comes from the National Union's partner, the Zehut party, led by Moshe Feiglin.

Omer Patsiniash, a reservist captain and member of Zehut, stated in an interview on Radio Galai Israel that the unified list has reserved spots for Winter should he decide to join. "By God's grace, an agreement was signed for a joint run with Religious Zionism, and now votes will not be wasted," Patsiniash said, welcoming the recent merger. "The union is open to Ofer Winter, and the call to add him is shared by us and Smotrich."

Patsiniash revealed that the potential inclusion of Winter was considered during the merger negotiations. "If Ofer Winter wants to join, he already has reserved places with us. The technical bloc took this into account in advance. We hope he will think with national responsibility as we did," she added.

The National Union and Religious Zionism parties recently finalized an agreement to run together in the upcoming elections, aiming to consolidate right-wing votes. The move to recruit Winter, a former commander in the Givati Brigade known for his religious background, is seen as an effort to further strengthen the bloc's appeal to religious and nationalist voters.
