Haredi Party Leader Seeks Knesset Seats, Pledges Support for Netanyahu

Moti Lightner, chairman of the Haredi Public party, has set a goal of at least two representatives in the upcoming Knesset elections. He stated in an interview that his party will exclusively support Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister.

Lightner also addressed the issue of military conscription for Haredim, vowing to cancel sanctions and expand existing Haredi tracks within the army. He defended his decision not to include women on his party's list, emphasizing the traditional Haredi approach where individuals are guided by their rabbis.

He explicitly urged anyone intending to vote for his party to consult their religious leaders first, citing the principle of "and you shall do according to the word which they tell you." Lightner firmly rejected accusations that his party receives funding from the Kaplan movement, a group known for its anti-Netanyahu protests.
