Rabbinical Students Tour Lulav Groves Ahead of Sukkot

Approximately 150 rabbinical instructors and students participated in a special tour of the Rusoff Lulav orchards, led by Rabbi Yitzchak Strauss, head of the 'Mesamchei Lev' Halachic Committee. The tour was part of an intensive study program focused on the laws of the Four Species (Arba'at HaMinim) used during the Sukkot holiday.

The participants, who had been studying the theoretical aspects of the laws, visited the orchards to understand the practical realities and halachic questions that arise when selecting a high-quality lulav. They toured Eli Rusoff's groves, observing the cultivation and harvesting processes, and learned about Rusoff's methods for producing premium lulavim.

A practical discussion was held on-site concerning the kashrut (kosher status) and quality of the lulav, with various examples examined directly from the orchard. This initiative is part of a broader preparation for the Arba'at HaMinim market, with Rusoff Lulavim playing a central role.

The trained students are expected to staff sales points across Israel, offering professional halachic guidance to purchasers selecting their Four Species. Eli Rusoff, co-owner of Rusoff Lulavim, spearheads this effort annually in conjunction with the Rabbinical Council for Charity's Arba'at HaMinim market, which provides quality sets at accessible prices with on-site halachic consultation.

Rusoff Lulavim emphasized that connecting theoretical study with practical orchard visits equips the instructors to address public questions accurately and effectively.
