This power struggle is also about consolidating influence within the Lithuanian-Haredi community and shaping the composition of the next Knesset. The potential fallout could impact Gafni and Maklev, two figures closely identified with Degel HaTorah for decades. Several factors are converging, including public anger over the political leadership's failure to resolve the conscription issue, with some criticism directed at veteran MKs.
