Approximately 30 Jews, including two Israeli citizens, are among the 4,400 individuals reported missing following severe floods on the China-Nepal border. The Chabad House in Kathmandu has become a central hub for coordinating search efforts for those lost in the disaster.
According to a statement from Chabad, emissaries Rabbi Hezki and Chani Lifshitz are in contact with anxious relatives worldwide and are liaising with Nepalese authorities. They have also dispatched a relief team equipped with food and medical supplies, which is awaiting access to areas only reachable by air.
