Bereaved Mother Michal Negri Joins Naftali Bennett’s 'Together' Party
Michal Negri, the former CEO of Ra'anana municipality and the mother of Maj. (res.) Ro'i Negri, who was killed fighting in Be'eri on October 7, announced on Tuesday that she is joining Naftali Bennett’s new party, "Together". Negri also previously headed the "Ilan Ramon" division in Kochav Yair-Tzur Yigal and served as head of education administration before spending many years as Ra'anana’s municipal chief executive.
Over the past two years, she has been active in opposing legislation to advance the draft exemption law. In a statement about her political move, Negri said she chose to join "Together" under Bennett because she believes his leadership can "fix, renew and move Israel forward." She said she was entering public service מתוך a sense of personal responsibility and hope, and pledged to work for a stronger, more united Israeli society.
Negri also tied her decision to her son’s generation, saying, "The young generation, the generation of my Ro'i, has already proven itself, they went out to fight for the country on October 7. Now it is our turn." Bennett welcomed her and said she is "an excellent leader who came from the field, from education and local government," adding that the values she brings are exactly what is needed to rebuild Israel.
