Democrats Party Claims Sharp Rise in Threats Against Yair Golan, Demands Increased Security

The Israeli Democrats party has urgently appealed to the Central Elections Committee chairman, Judge Noam Sohlberg, citing new data that allegedly shows a sharp increase in the severity and frequency of threats against party chairman Yair Golan. The party's CEO, Omer Lubaton Granot, stated that while Israeli Police classify the threat level against Golan as 4 out of 6, the advisory committee for personal security is not providing adequate protection.

Granot criticized the committee, accusing it of disregarding democratic values and playing with human lives. "Mr. Judge, you were appointed to bring order, but the advisory committee disregards the values of Israeli democracy and has decided to play with human lives. We cannot accept the contempt for your position and the endangerment of the party chairman's life," he said.

The Democrats party is demanding that the Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs immediately increase security around Golan, drawing a parallel to the security measures provided to Gadi Eisenkot. The party insists the committee act on substantive considerations to bolster Golan's protection.
