Top Rabbi Dov Lando Considers Removing Knesset Members from Party List

Sources close to Rabbi Dov Lando, the spiritual leader of the Degel HaTorah party, confirmed on Wednesday that the rabbi is considering the possibility of removing Knesset members from the party's list. This potential move comes ahead of the final list submission to the Central Elections Committee next week.

The development follows a recent event in Tiberias, where Rabbi Lando addressed thousands of participants. During his speech, he praised the growth of Torah study in the city, stating, "Thank God the voice of Torah is resounding everywhere, especially here in Tiberias, which has seen hundreds of Torah scholars from all backgrounds settle here in recent years. Torah study is the most sublime thing in the world, and Torah study outweighs all else."

Rabbi Lando also addressed the current challenges facing the Haredi public, particularly concerning the ongoing conscription law crisis. "We all know that the world of Torah is in a very difficult situation, and the authorities' persecution makes life harder for Torah scholars day by day, with every individual Torah scholar feeling the burden of these decrees," he said.

He emphasized that the Haredi public's hope rests solely with God, not with any political figure. "We do not depend on this person or that person, or on any prime minister, but solely on the Creator of the world, and we all hope and pray that He will have mercy on His people, especially on the world of Torah."
