Nesher Honors Five Community Volunteers as City Citizens of the Year

The Nesher Municipality held a celebratory ceremony this past Sunday to award the "Citizen of Honor" distinctions for 2026. The awards recognize volunteers and public activists who have made significant contributions to the local community and the city over the years. This year's honorees are Chafi Cohen, Rabbi Moshe Kornet, Adi Kranz, Natalia Silov, and Shira Elkoubi. These five individuals were selected from dozens of nominations submitted by city residents, following a thorough review by the municipal naming committee.

During the event, the life stories and extensive public service and volunteer work of the recipients were presented. Nesher Mayor Roi Levy congratulated the honorees, stating, "A country is not just a flag, not just an anthem, not just roads, and not just buildings. To establish a country is to establish a community and a people. And you are part of this wonderful creation called the State of Israel, and certainly part of the wonderful creation called Nesher."

The municipal administration expressed gratitude to the honorees for their dedication, ongoing efforts, and substantial contributions to the resilience of the Nesher community.
