Israel's Sixth Dolphin Submarine, INS Drakon, Begins Voyage Home
The Israeli Navy's sixth submarine, INS Drakon, has departed from the TKMS shipyard in Germany and commenced its journey to Israel. The vessel is the last in the Dolphin AIP class and incorporates advanced technologies for extended operational range and submerged endurance.
The departure ceremony in Germany was attended by senior officials including Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Eyal Harel, Director of the Defense Ministry's Procurement and Production Organization Ze'ev Landau, and Israel's Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor, alongside the German Navy commander. Upon its arrival in Israel, a state reception ceremony will be held for INS Drakon at the Haifa naval base. Vice Admiral Harel stated, "The submarine of the future begins its journey home. It will bring advanced capabilities and significant operational power, and its crew will operate secretly and silently far from home."
