Bride Wears Mother's Dress, Honors Slain Sisters at Wedding

Tali Dee married Ariel Yitzhak Rosenfeld on Monday, choosing to wear her mother Lucy's wedding dress and incorporate poignant tributes to her mother and two sisters, Maya and Rina, who were murdered in a terrorist attack. The ceremony featured a chuppah specially embroidered in memory of Maya, and songs chosen to honor Rina. Tali also planned to wear jewelry belonging to her sister. "I feel they are with us all the time and in our hearts," Tali had said after her engagement.

Ariel proposed to Tali on the third anniversary of the attack that claimed her mother and sisters' lives. Tali viewed this as a response to the tragedy, stating that despite those who seek to harm them, "we will continue to bring more life into the world." The attack occurred as Lucy, Maya, and Rina were traveling by car near the Hamra junction in the Jordan Valley. Maya and Rina were killed instantly, and Lucy died three days later from her injuries. Her family subsequently donated her organs, saving five lives.

Reflecting on their journey since the attack, Tali explained that her family resolved not to let the terrorists succeed in breaking them. "We understood that we could not let them succeed in breaking us," she stated. "We had to live even more because of our loss, and be even happier."
