Iran Strikes Jordan Bases, Drone Crosses From Lebanon Amid Escalating US Tensions

Iran launched a broad retaliatory strike against U.S. forces in Jordan overnight Tuesday, announcing the response following recent American attacks on Revolutionary Guard targets within Iran. The Jordanian military reported that 13 ballistic missiles were fired from Iran, with 10 intercepted and three landing in remote areas. U.S. officials confirmed to Reuters that no American personnel were harmed, though the sounds of explosions and interceptions were heard as far as Eilat. The Revolutionary Guard also claimed to have struck U.S. targets in Iraq and used drones in Bahrain, though these claims lacked official confirmation. Iran also asserted it downed a U.S. drone.

These actions occurred concurrently with a significant U.S. offensive against Iran. U.S. Central Command detailed strikes on air defense systems, radar installations, naval assets, military facilities, communication systems, and mine-laying capabilities across Iran, with explosions reported in multiple coastal cities. Iranian sources told The New York Times that substantial damage was inflicted on several targets. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Tehran, stating that any further retaliation would be met with a much stronger response, and a repeated offense would lead to Iran's demise.

In a separate incident early Wednesday, a drone infiltrated Israeli territory from Lebanon, triggering air raid sirens in several communities in the Upper Galilee region, including Kfar Yuval and Dafna, around 4:30 AM. This marks the first such alert in the northern border area in nearly three months. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that interceptors were launched toward the target, and the results of the interception attempts are under review. No casualties were reported. The Home Front Command declared the incident over approximately 15 minutes after the sirens, advising residents to leave protected areas. The IDF clarified that some of the alerts were activated due to the interception attempts.
