IDF Announces Military Exercise in Golan Heights
The spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that a military exercise will take place Wednesday morning in the Golan Heights. The exercise is expected to involve significant movement of security forces and will include sounds of gunfire and explosions in the area. This drill was planned in advance as part of the IDF's 2026 training program.
In parallel, IDF soldiers are currently engaged in dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure south of the Litani River in Lebanon. This operation continues amidst ongoing ceasefire negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, with forces actively destroying terror organization facilities and degrading its capabilities. The IDF reported that brigade combat teams 769, 4, and 55, operating under Division 91 in the southern Lebanon security zone, have located and seized various weapons and equipment. These include anti-tank missiles, rocket launchers, grenades, explosives, Kalashnikov rifles, vests, uniforms, and helmets, as part of efforts to clear the area of terror infrastructure and destroy weaponry.
Separately, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the US Ambassador to Lebanon earlier today.
