Singers Moishy Badenski and Lazar Brandmark Release Emotional 'Tefen Elinu' for Days of Mercy

As the Jewish month of Elul, a period of introspection and prayer, unfolds, singers Moishy Badenski and Lazar Brandmark have released a new rendition of the song 'Tefen Elinu' (Turn to Us). This is the second installment in their 'Elul Zing' series, aiming to provide a special musical experience for this time of year.

The song, originally composed by Pinchas Bichler and first performed by Zanvil Weinberger, is a prayer for divine mercy as the Jewish people approach the new year. Badenski and Brandmark's version aims to imbue the prayer with particular emotional depth, fitting for the solemnity of the Days of Mercy and Forgiveness.

The new arrangement was a collaborative effort, with Lazar Brandmark and Yonatan Bloy handling the musical production, mixing, and arrangement. Their work is described as creating a rich sonic landscape that blends traditional sounds with contemporary energy. Badenski's vocals and Brandmark's keyboard performance are highlighted as creating a warm, soulful rendition that immerses the listener in the atmosphere of Elul.

The project also involved a creative team for its visual presentation. David Orian filmed the accompanying clip, while Hershy Segal directed, edited, and handled color grading. The cover art was designed by Oligraf, and animation was created by Shneur Eisenbach, all contributing to a polished and moving final product.

The 'Elul Zing' series, which began with a first installment, continues its tradition of offering music suitable for the Days of Mercy. The project has reportedly been well-received, becoming part of the unique atmosphere of the month of Elul and accompanying the Jewish people as they prepare for the High Holy Days.
