Donald Trump posted a forceful message on Truth Social, claiming that “Iran is all talk and no action.” He later told Fox News that he was close to ordering additional strikes that would include power stations and bridges. The speaker of the Iranian parliament responded with a counterthreat.

U.S. President Trump posted a sharp message on the Truth Social platform against Iran amid the overnight escalation between the two countries. “Iran is all talk, and no action,” Trump wrote. “The bully of the Middle East is dead. It took them too long to negotiate a deal that was great for them, and now they will have to pay the price.” Trump added that “Iran’s military is a complete mess. Much of it, like the air force and navy, no longer exists. They have been completely defeated.”

Later, in an interview with Fox News, he said he was “close to ordering additional strikes in Iran, including power stations and bridges.” According to Trump, “Iran is taking too long in the negotiations.” The remarks came hours after he said, “We have a deal that was very good, and I believe it will still be,” following the exchange of fire between the United States and Iran, in which Tehran attacked American targets across the Persian Gulf and in Jordan.

The speaker of Iran’s parliament responded to the statements, saying that “any aggression will be met with a direct and decisive response. The road to victory passes through resistance and martyrdom.”
