Jengo on loss, aging and a new album shaped by an accident
Jengo will launch the album on July 7 at Meretz 2 in Tel Aviv. The first part of the show will feature new songs and selections from his solo catalog, and the second part will recreate the trio set from the Jengo band, with Nushi Paz on guitar and Ran Shimoni on drums, after a recent festival performance that was cut off by the war with Iran. He says that performance was a big success and that hearing an audience sing his songs felt unusual and exciting, almost like mainstream success. Asked about his children, he said they are not especially interested in his rock career, his son prefers distorted hip hop, and his daughter is in a different world entirely. He added that he is not bothered, saying he never wanted his children to listen to his music anyway, so in that sense he got what he wanted, just in the most extreme way.
