Gantz Defends Golan Amidst Netanyahu's Wife's Allegations

Benny Gantz, chairman of the National Unity party, former IDF chief of staff, and former defense minister, publicly defended Yair Golan on Monday against accusations stemming from remarks made by Sara Netanyahu. Gantz vehemently rejected any attempt to link Golan to claims of treason, highlighting Golan's extensive military career and his actions during the October 7th Hamas attack.

"Yair Golan is a brave warrior who fought and risked his life for the State of Israel for many decades, including on October 7th," Gantz stated. He added that any effort to associate Golan with treason is not only false but also damaging to the fighting spirit of the Israeli people.

Gantz used the opportunity to reiterate his call for a state commission of inquiry to investigate the events of October 7th. "The time has come to establish a state commission of inquiry that will put an end to conspiracy theories and allow for lessons to be learned, so that brave fighters will never again have to deal with such a terrible failure," he said.
