Maccabi Tel Aviv holds a commanding 2-0 lead over Maccabi Haifa at halftime in their match on Monday evening, thanks to a brace from midfielder Dor Peretz. Peretz opened the scoring in the 14th minute from the penalty spot after a foul on Jelle Varela inside the box, which was confirmed by VAR. Maccabi Haifa initially thought they had taken the lead earlier, but Silva Kani's goal was disallowed for offside.

The second goal for Maccabi Tel Aviv came in the 40th minute, again from Peretz. Following a through ball from Moussa Camara, Peretz controlled the pass with his chest and slotted the ball into the far corner past goalkeeper Omri Glazer. This brings Peretz's league goal tally to five after just one and a half games, marking an impressive start to the season for the midfielder.
